Trying new things!

Today, I decided to try shopping at CVS to see if Extra Care Bucks would be worth my while.

The short answer? Oh yes!

I scanned my Extra Care card at the machine when I came in and I got a coupon for $2 off bodywash. Since I was planning on purchasing body wash, this was quite a score!

I bought the bodywashes pictured about for $4.88 each and one pack of Swedish Fish for 88 cents.

I used these coupons:
-$2 CVS coupon
-$3 Nivea Men's Bodywash
-$4 Nivea Women's Bodywash
-$4 Nivea Women's Bodywash
-$4 Nivea Women's Bodywash

I spent $5.29 out of pocket and got a $5 ECB! Basically I paid 29 cents for all that bodywash and the swedish fish.

Then I went to Save-A-Lot. It's not in the best neighborhood and I'd never been there, but I was so glad I did. They were very coupon friendly and the people were SO nice.

Here's the picture of what I got:

I got a ton of Tide. Eight jugs! The Tide was $4 each. I also got 5lbs of ground beef. That was $7.45. Had to have some meat to go with all that Hamburger Helper I bought!

I used these coupons:
-$1 off Tide (x8)
-$5 off when you spend $25

I spent $29.99. I saved $13. Considering Tide usually costs $6.99 or more for that size, I really saved way more than that.

I went to another CVS but it was a bust. The Nivea was $6.99 for the bodywash. Way more expensive than at the other CVS. So I went across the street to Walgreens. Here's what I got there:

Not pictured is a pack of Gummy worms I got for my daughter which were 99 cents. The Women's body was was $5.59 each and the men's was $3.99. The cereal was $2.50 a box. I also got the Twizzlers for my grammy. She loves them and I'm going to see her tomorrow for her birthday.

I used these coupons:
-$1 off Kelloggs Little Bites (x2)
-$3 off Men's Nivea
-$4 off Women's Nivea
-$4 off Women's Nivea
-$4 off Women's Nivea

My out-of-pocket total was $14.29. I was planning on doing another transaction at CVS and having a much lower out-of-pocket, but I did get $7 in Register Rewards, so basically it was like I paid $7.29 for all that! $5 in Register Rewards was for the bodywash and the other $2 was for the Kelloggs.

The bodywash was such good timing! I've got plenty of nice smelling stuff for me and also a great gift for my mom for Mother's Day! Yay!

Total spent: $49.57
Total spent in 2010: $2277.28
Remaining annual balance: $2922.72
