I needed paper towels. I was planning on saving my Extra Care bucks for next week, but I was all out of paper towels and wanted to see how I could do. CVS had paper towels on sale for $6.97 for an 8 roll pack. So I went there, in the pouring rain, and here's what I got:
-Bounty 8 roll package- $6.97
-3 Powerbars- $0.99 each or $2.97
-1 CVS Antibacterial wipes- $1.79
I had a coupon for free wipes and $8 in ECB's.
Total (after tax): $2.87
I received $2.97 in ECB's. So basically I got my money back, plus $0.10, but I always count my spending based on out of pocket amounts.
At any rate. That's a lot of stuff for $2.87!
Then I went to Wal-Mart and actually had a decent experience. Here's what I got:
-5 Pampers Wipes- $1.97 each or $9.85
-2 Great Value Ice cream-$1.98 each or $3.96
-7 Gallons of Great Value Spring water- $0.88 each or $6.16
Subtotal was $19.97
I had five $2/1 Pampers wipes coupons and, AMAZINGLY, the really nice cashier gave me the full value of the coupons! $0.15 overage! (I know that's not much, but I'll take it)
Total out of pocket: $11.66
Finally, I stopped by Kroger. Mostly to get Cheetos!
-5 Cheetos Zingers- $1.68 each or $8.40
-1 Kroger Ice cream bars-$1.99
-1 Poise Pantyliner- $2.99
I used:
-5 $1/1 Cheetos Zingers
-Free Coupon for Poise Pantyliners
Total was: $6.48. My receipt says I saved 71%. Pretty cool. $0.28 of my total I can turn in for my health reimbursement account (I'm guessing the tax on the Poise pads?).
Total spent: $21.01
Total spent in 2010: $2984.52
Remaining annual balance: $2215.48
