Birthday shopping

Two trips today, but no pictures.

First stop: Wal-mart to look at bikes and pick up a few household items. I separated the household items from the grocery items so I could keep an accurate count. Here's what I got there:

-4 gallons water
-2 Lays Stax
-All You Magazine (technically not a "grocery item", but I bought it because it has tons of coupons, so I'm counting it as such)
-Reduced Italian bread (56 cents)
-Reduced buns ($1.50 for six good sized buns. Will use for sandwiches next week. Lots cheaper than the $2.99 I've been spending!)
-Beef ribs (the kids picked this for their birthday dinner!)-only $4.43 for a good sized package
-Chocolate soy milk
-Popcorn
-Pantene conditioner ($3.76 and I had a $2 off coupon)
-Pert Plus ($2.88 and I had a $1 coupon)

I also had a $1 off coupon for the Soy milk

Spent $27.24

Second stop: Kroger

-1 large box of Corn Pops
-1 box 90 calorie Fiber one bars (89 cents after Shortcuts and paper coupon)
-2 Hillshire farms turkey breast (lunchmeat)
-2 Betty crocker pouch potatoes
-1 Kraft cheese (block)
-4 Nestle Crunch bars
-1 Kroger ice cream
-3 bags Shredded Kraft naturals
-5 Zone perfect bars
-2 Kroger cake mix
-1 Sargento Sliced Provolone
-1 pack Ground chuck
-1 reduced Chuck steak
-Smart Balance margarine
-1 Hillshire farms ham (lunchmeat)
-2 tubes of Betty Crocker decorator icing ($1.99 each OMG)

I had a $2 credit from Kroger because the coupons they load onto your card didn't work last time, plus I had a $4 credit for buying 8 items in the mega sale (which means all the Kraft cheese was 49 cents a package after coupons!). I spent $42.28 and saved $35.16.

I spent on things today that normally I wouldn't (decorator icing and a magazine). I also figured out that water is cheaper at Kroger. I won't buy water at Wal-Mart again. Also, we didn't need soy milk, but the kids love it and I did have a coupon so I guess that was okay. It's their birthday tomorrow, after all.
