Long time, no post.

I'm a crappy blogger, what can I say?

I've spent some money since the last time I posted. I really want to keep up with this better, so I'm going to try to do better going forward. Here's how I'm doing right now.

March 25th- Kroger- $80.51
I don't have any pictures of any of my trips, unfortunately.
I saved $48.85 on this trip (40%). Not great. The main reason my bill was so high was I bought my husband razors (STUPID RAZORS) and they were $19.49. That's a HUGE portion of my bill.

March 30th- Kroger- $108.38
I don't have this in front of me, so I don't have a good explanation as to why this was so much. I believe this was when I bought my Easter turkey. It was 23.3lbs. For four people. Genius, I know. We've been eating turkey all week long.

April 2nd- Kroger- $28.27
Again, I don't have this is front of me.

April 6th-Food City- $70.53
Seriously, the only reason I went to Food City was because they advertised a great deal on Big G cereals. I had coupons for Cinnamon Toast Crunch and they were selling it as part of the sale. You got $6 off if you bought 4 boxes of cereal. I also had coupons which would have made it even cheaper.

Well of COURSE they were completely cleared out of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. And the Trix. AND the Cheerios. All they had was the Cocco Puffs, which my kids like so it's fine. I got four boxes and they were $1 each and that's a pretty good deal.

I thought that I would just buy the rest of the things I needed there too, and they ended up being WAY MORE EXPENSIVE than at Kroger. I have NO IDEA why people act like Food City is so cheap. I don't know what these people are buying that is so freaking cheap. Even the store brand cheese was a $1 more a package than at Kroger.

They did take my internet printed coupon, which is good, so I got bags of Easter candy on discount for about $1 each. I also got the Value Time macaroni and cheese for 25 cents a box, which is a good pantry staple.

April 6th- Food City- $3.61
I guess I am a huge glutton for punishment, because I went to ANOTHER Food City store to see if they had the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Of course they didn't. So I picked up a few discount Easter treats for my kids. (They didn't get an Easter basket this year and I felt a little guilty).

Total spending since March 20th: $291.30. Awesome. I spent $291.30 in 18 days.

I'm disappointed that I didn't meet my March goal and further disappointed that I really wanted to buy AngelFood this month and I'm going to be out of town next weekend and won't be able to pick-up.

I feel like I'm not getting this right. I know it takes time to build a stockpile, but I wonder if I'm doing something wrong.

Total spent: $291.30
Total spent in 2010: $1701.50
Remaining annual balance: $3498.50
